FALL Baseball

The organized baseball/softball programs of the Diamond Council of Columbia, Inc. area present to you this information on your choices for baseball and softball for your children. It is intended to enable you to make well-informed choices for your child’s participation.

Recreational Division - Cost $65: Children who register in the A division will be placed on teams formed by neighborhood/school attending. 12 Games will be scheduled and rainout will not be made up. Games will begin August 23 and be played through October 9th.

Any parent/volunteer who plans to coach a team, please select Head/Assistant coach when registering their child. Your league coordinator will contact you if you are selected. Please feel free to contact your league coordinator if you have any questions.

RECREATIONAL - 2010 Fall Tball (age as of 11/1/10)
Team rosters are limited to thirteen players assembled on a first come-first served basis by school. Boys and Girls are combined in this age group only. Game schedules and rosters will be distributed at the coach’s orientation meeting on August 9th. Coaches will contact team members and may begin practicing August 10th. Games will begin the week of August 23.  

Children that turn 5 by November 1, may play tball, however, please consider that they will not be able to move up to the next league until they meet the age requirements for that league.

RECREATIONAL - 2010 Fall Baseball - Boys (age as of 4/30/11) -
Team rosters are limited to thirteen players assembled on a first come-first served basis by school. Boys and Girls may play in all leagues, however, beyond the youngest, beginning levels, there are more boys then girls playing baseball. Game schedules and rosters will be distributed at the coach’s orientation meeting. Coaches will contact team members before practices, practices begin August 10th. Games will begin the week of August 24th.

5 Year Old - TBALL (Coed) - Fall TBall Age as of 11/1/10
In this league players learn the basics of throwing, catching and hitting.  Games Length: 1 Hour. Teams use a RIF 5 baseball, In this league parents or coaches umpire the games.  Coaches set the practice schedules.
6 Year Old - Coach Pitch / Tball
In this league players continue to learn the basics of throwing, catching and hitting. Players advance from T-ball to coach pitch/Tball, coaches pitch to their players from 30'. After 6 pitches, player hits from a Tee.  Games are an hour long and in this league players begin to learn more rules of the game. Teams use a RIF 10 Baseball.  In this league parents or coaches umpire the games. Coaches set the practice schedules. 
7 Year Old - Coach Pitch
In this league players continue to learn the basics of throwing, catching and hitting. Players advance from coach pitch/Tball to Coach Pitch only leagues. Coaches pitch to their players from 30'.  Games are an hour long and in this league players begin to learn more rules of the game. Teams use a RIF 10 Baseball.  In this league parents or coaches umpire the games. Coaches set the practice schedules. 
8 Year Old - Coach Pitch
In this league players begin to learn advanced throwing, catching and hitting. Players continue with coach pitch and have some games that will be Machine Pitch. Games are an hour long and in this league players develop advanced hitting skills. Teams use a RIF 10 Baseball.  In this league parents or coaches umpire the games. Coaches set the practice schedules.  All teams will some Pitching Machine games and coaches and parents will be able to give us feedback to see if we continue with Machine Pitch in the future.
9/10 Year Old - Kid Pitch
In this league players learn advanced skills of throwing, catching and hitting. Players advance from coach pitch/Machine Pitch to player pitch from 46'. Games are an 75 minutes long and in this league players begin to learn more rules of the game. Teams use real baseballs.  In this league Diamond Council provides one umpire for the games. Coaches set the practice schedules.
11/12 Year Old
In this league players continue to learn advanced skill of throwing, catching and hitting. Players pitch from 50'. Games are 90 minutes long and in this league players learn more rules of the game. Teams use real baseballs. In this league Diamond Council provides umpires for the games. Coaches set the practice schedules.
13/14 Year Old

In this league players continue to learn advanced skill of throwing, catching and hitting. Players pitch from 54'. Games are 105 minutes (1 hr 45 min) long and in this league players learn advanced rules of the game. In this league Diamond Council provides umpires for the games. Coaches set the practice schedules. Games will be played at the new Atkins Complex.

15-18 Year Old
In this league players continue to learn advanced skill of throwing, catching and hitting. Players pitch from 60'6" and Games are 105 minutes (1 hr 45 min) long and in this league players learn advanced rules of the game. In this league Diamond Council provides umpires for the games. Coaches set the practice schedules. Games will be played at the new Atkins Complex.
